Since 2015, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is an Associate member of the world’s largest innovation community focused on raw materials, EIT RawMaterials. As an active partner within the EIT RawMaterials Community, NTUA started the discussions on the establishment of a Greek Raw Materials Support Center back in 2016. The idea was received with much interest, and as a result EIT RM decided to establish several Hubs within the network.
Regional Center Greece was established in May 2018 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT RawMaterials) in cooperation with the National Technical University of Athens. Activities of the HUB Center are run by the Laboratory of Metallurgy of the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering and its objective is to mobilize all stakeholders within the Knowledge Triangle and to support the local ecosystem in order to enhance the innovative potential of the region, in line with European strategies.
The Target Group is not just the mining sector but the entire value chain of raw materials, where the Regional Center Greece is constantly developing its already rich database of contacts.
